Winter Break Junior Camp

Clubhouse Golf Salina Junior Golf Camp

Dates: December 21st, 22nd, 27th -29th 2024, January 4th & 5th 2025

Time: 8:30am-10am Saturday and Sunday’s, Friday 12/27 – 1pm-2:30pm

Cost: $125/player

Saturday 12/21/2024 Session 1:

Putting – Learning the basic techniques of putting starting with stance, posture, grip, ball position and speed control. Games will include putting tic-tac-toe, Golf Pong, Foresight Fairgrounds Putt Skee and Bowling.

Sunday 12/22/2024 Session 2:

Short Game Bonanza – We will work on chipping and pitch shots into the green. Shot distances will vary, and we will work on different ways to play them using wedges and short irons. Games will include closest to the pin, Foresight Fairgrounds Balloon Pop and Target shooting.

Friday 12/27/2024 Session 3:

Iron Play – We will work on full swing shots utilizing short to mid irons. 6 to 9 iron approximately. Again working on stance, grip, alignment, ball position and the basic fundamentals of the golf swing. Distance and accuracy drills on the driving range with various distances selected. Closest to the pin contest to wrap it up with distances comfortable based on age and ability.

Saturday 12/28/2024 Session 4:

Long Irons/Hybrids – Moving into hitting the longer clubs, we will work again on grip, stance, posture and ball position with the goal of having the players hit solid shots that advance the ball with control. We will work on a smooth take away, balance and building speed at impact through the finish.

Sunday 12/29/2024 Session 5:

Woods and Drivers – Continuing with the focus on grip, stance, posture and balance we will be learning details on what goes into hitting the driver or 3 wood. The goal here is to get the ball advanced farther off the tee, which is what kids really want to do! This day will include a long drive contest for the kids!

Saturday 1/4/2025 Session 6:

Course Management/Play – We will play as many holes as we can on the par 3 Tropical Executive course. We will use all facets of the game here ranging from mostly iron play, chipping and putting.

Sunday 1/5/2025 Session 7:

Parent/Jr. Scramble – This is a fun day where a parent, sibling, or family member will have the chance to play with their Junior. We will set it up as a 2 player scramble. The catch here is you have to play at least two of the Junior’s shots per hole! We want the juniors to be the highlight here, but also to have fun as well! Parents can choose the distance they play from, but we will set the kids up on a fair set of tees based on their age and ability.
